Dr. Mukut Minz did his Masters Degree in General Surgery at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, popularly known as PGIMER Chandigarh.

PGIMER Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.

Dr. Mukut Minz received his medical degree from VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla which is in the state of Odisha in India.

Dr Mukut says that the good quality medical study in Burla helped him a lot later in life. Futher he says, "I am proud of the fact that I studied there".

A bit about his Medical college: - Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) (Odia: ବୀର ସୁରେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସାଏ ଆୟୁର୍ବିଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ଗବେଷଣା ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାନ) previously known as Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital (VSSMCH) is a premier government-run medical college and hospital in the Indian state of Odisha. Established in 1959, it is one of the oldest institutes in Odisha for imparting highly specialized medical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. VSS, as it is popularly known, is recognized, regulated and monitored by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in charge of the medical education of India.

Dr. Mukut Minz comes from a modest family from a village called Kalunga under Kulunga panchayat of Lathikata block in Sundargarh district in the Indian State of Odisha.

Dr. Minz had his primary schooling in the village, studied high-school at Uditnagar in Rourkela.
